Property prices in France continue to fall

This is not a scientific survey or anything but out of the thirty odd properties that GITES for Sale has on its books, about 6 have recently dropped their price.

And these are not the most blatantly over-priced, but rather those who have the most need/desire to sell. They are aligning their price to what they perceive to be the market price.

Is this good news for buyers? Well, yes! They can take a new look at a property that they formerly dismissed as ‘too expensive’ without really looking at the details.

Here’s a couple of examples:

1. 16 hectare estate in Languedoc (near Castelnaudary) – large farmhouse divided into main residence and 2 gîtes, 12 metre pool and lots of peace and quiet. New reduced price: €449,000

2. 5-bedroomed guest house catering to pilgrims and hikers on the Camino footpath in the Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc. New reduced price: €170,000
